Chuchuhuasi: Ancestry and Transpersonal Experience

It is a plant medicine that is used throughout AbyAyala and has been known since pre-Inca times.

Origin: Legend of the Cocamas: (it relates that a powerful healer lost his firstborn son during the hunt in the jungle, he cried a lot and his tears watered a field where a robust tree, with strong roots, hard bark, appeared, that tree when passing by his side spoke to him saying: I am your son I came to protect you and cure you must take my bark by the east and west, you will lack nothing).

Ancestrally it is collected during fasting, the wise collectors, to obtain a better curative effect, collect a part of the tree where the sun rises (chuchu) and where the sun sets (huasha). The active ingredient is found in abundance in the bark and leaves, the bark is very hard, insoluble in water.

Organic, sexual restorative, with medicinal virtues against infertility and mental and sexual impotence. It creates powerful social bonds.

◦ Reputation as an aphrodisiac, par excellence, it is considered the most used substance today to increase libido in the Andean Amazonian world. It is the least commodified entheogen in the context of the psychedelic renaissance, due to its rarity.
