Regulating access to and patenting of endemic medicinal plants

To promote the exchange of knowledge on the use of medicinal plants and other therapeutic resources of natural origin, on March 25 the Institute of Public Health (ISP) together with the Ministry of Health, held the seminar "Interculturality, therapeutic biological resources and biodiversity". The seminar covered topics such as the importance of regulation, public policies and citizen initiatives on medicinal plants and other therapeutic resources, for which there was a presentation on Global Health, Biodiversity and Therapeutic Innovation, from Harvard University, as well as the work of the University of Chile regarding herbaria, among others.
